'Do all the good you can... in all the places you can... to all the people you can, as long as ever you can. Words of John Wesley, founder of the Methodist religion.2014 Our missions here at Wesley UMC seek to serve the community and our fellow neighbors. This includes a Good Samaritan Fund to help those in need in our local community.
In 2016 the mission trip was to the Rosebud Reservation in Mission, South Dakota along with Cherry Valley UMC. A week of hard work and reflection on what it means to help others, along with some much deserved goofing off. Will be returning to Rosebud Reservation in Mission, South Dakota. We Hope to see you all.
The Rainbow covenant establishes a covenant between our church and many that are served by mission programs locally, nationally and globally. Every 3 years our mission committee picks worthwhile projects to support. These are some of our current projects: missionaries in Zambia and Cambodia; Honduran school project; the Heifer Project; Mother-Child Survival; locally the Riverview Center, Hospice of Northwest Illinois, Rainbow Ridge, and the local Salvation Army. Our congregation also gives a portion of our offerings to the United Methodist Conference to support many other worthwhile missions.
